Go ahead, do all of the “right” things. Optimize your blog correctly, do your keyword research, have a damn blast.
But think about the last article you read on the internet.
We mean truly read, all the way through.
Why did you read it? Was it because it was the first result to pop up on Google?
Maybe, but it was probably just the reason you clicked on the article. It doesn’t mean you actually read it.
Unless someone like an employer or teacher is forcing you to read painfully boring content, we’re all human here.
only want to read content that is- surprise, surprise- captivating! What we’re trying to say is, no matter how many fancy, tricky marketing tactics you used to get people to your business’s blog, no one’s going to care if it’s not good.
And if it’s not good, it says a lot about your business.
How do you make better content, you ask?
The most important rule, above all else, is to not overthink it.
The formula, overall, is simple.
Naturally, the level of difficulty will range depending on the subject and purpose of the piece. But at its core, this isn’t rocket science.
Here are just a few things to keep in mind when writing the meat of your company’s blog:
- Choose a subject that will appeal to your target audience.
- Educate and inspire your readers.
- Make sure your content’s voice aligns with your business’s brand.
- Create a title that will entice the reader.
- Be honest and opinionated (within reason).
- Use humor.
- Be human and write for humans.
