Not Prepared For Promise Day? We Got You Covered With 9 Promises And Chocolates!

“In the name of God, I, ______, take you, ______, to be my beloved, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.”

Two things

  • You don’t necessarily need to wait until your wedding day to take such vow; and

  • The vow itself doesn’t need to sound so dramatic and outdated. If you’re still ecstatic about the New Year and completely forgot- we’re in the Valentine’s week, days away from the most anticipated Promise Day.

A day for small gestures…. and meaningful words

February 11th- Promise Day- might just be another day for many (hint: singles) but, symbolically, it is much more to the people in love. Couples, on this day, with small gestures and exchange of simple words, build another impeccable storey in their relationships. But in case if you’re not prepared for this monumental day (okay, we might be exaggerating here), fret not- we got you covered. And no, not with the same cliché ideas of candle light dinners, a long drive, proposing in front of the crowd or anything like that; but with something exclusive and hilarious (exaggerating, again!).

About Promises

Although you would know best what promises should you make to your partner, remember it doesn’t necessarily have to be big or dramatic… It’s not 80s and you’re no Bollywood actor. Make small promises; something that you’re sure you can keep. Here are few ideas or inspirations-

  • Giving your partner more of your time

  • Treating them good in front of friends err… everyone

  • Snuggle… yep, more snuggle

  • Being honest and keeping their trust

  • Trusting them more

  • Giving them their space

  • Sharing your social media passwords (if you don’t already)

  • Ensuring today’s fight won’t stop tomorrow’s conversation

  • Listening… Listening… and Listening

How to promise?

Now you have a basic idea about your promises ; but you’re not going to say that directly to your partner, are you? That’d be awkward (maybe) and straight-up unromantic.

Cards- Writing your promises on the cards in flowery words could be the simplest of things you can do if you don’t want to go all fancy.

Flowers- Offering different type of flowers for each of your promises is yet another simple thing to do on Feb 11th.

Custom chocolates and cakes- If your partner loves chocolates or cakes (well of course he/she does. Who doesn’t?) offering them customized chocolates and cakes with your promises written on them would be more than perfect.

Teddy bears- Yes, teddy bears… you don’t really need any reason to offer cute snuggly teddy bears to your partner.

If all things kept simple but perfect and if you can wake up the sleeping poet in you, this Promise Day could become the best day in your relationship.
