ADD HYPERLINKS TO BLOG POSTS

Blogging as a beginner can be a bit frustrating. If you have been on the internet for long and can do many things on your own, it would still be a difficult area until you get used to it. It takes a bit of time getting used to all you need to know to be a successful blogger. As a blogger, you need to constantly update your blog by publishing new articles. The articles you publish must have links, both Internal and external links which would help your SEO. By now you know how important SEO is to your blog.
what is a hyperlink? A hyperlink can be a single word, phrase or image that you can click on and which can link to another destination either internally or externally. The purpose of this Post is to illustrate with screenshots how it’s done.
After accessing your WordPress dashboard, you will be greeted with a screen like this below after clicking add new under Post

let’s assume you have written your article and want to insert an internal link. Internal links can help your old articles if you link them well and can help people who visit your site to stay longer. Click on the link symbol and it would give you the option of inserting or editing a link. After clicking, you should get this image below
Notice we now have a thin strip in which we are supposed to paste the destination URL. Click the settings symbol after the arrow and it would take you to this screenshot

The first box is for you to paste the destination URL, the second box is for a link text, this can be a single word or phrase. This word then becomes your hyperlink.what it means is that you can turn any word or phrase into your destination URL. Below are some internal articles on the blog already. Don’t forget we are creating an internal link, in this screenshot, I am going to use the link text “here” and select “how to create and monetize your blog” as my destination URL.Here is a screenshot

After that, click the add link below and “here” would be inserted in your article as a link, so if a user clicks on “here “, the user will be redirected to “how to create and monetize your blog”.

That illustration was how to insert an internal link. Inserting an external link follows the same process. Just make sure you paste the destination URL and link that URL to any word or phrase you want.
