PATNA: Mukhiya of all Pirokhar panchayat at Madhubani District, Mandakini Chaudhary, is set to contest the upcoming assembly polls from Harlakhi gathering constituency as separate. Harlakhi at Madhubani district will go to the polls at the next and final period of the elections on November 7.
Mandakini, an MBA degree holder in finance and marketing from ICFAI Business School, Kolkata, decided politics as her livelihood 2013 and pledged to work for women empowerment and youth job at Madhubani district.
Within three decades, she became extremely common. She contested the mukhiya election 2016 on her fans’ need and emerged victorious. The success inspired her to function longer to uplift the poor and the downtrodden. “I do not think in’prachar’, but in actual work. My works speak amounts of growth from the panchayat,” she explained.
Granddaughter of an ex-IAS officer, Mandakini hails from Sujatpur village. “I diminished multi-lucrative job offers after acquiring a management diploma from a respectable institution. The zeal to do something distinct compelled me to settle within my native village. To bring a shift in the lifestyles of the bad is my prime goal,” she explained.
Mandakini isn’t an isolated instance. Many women mukhiyas are trying their luck in the coming assembly polls.
As an example, Shushumlata Kushwaha, the mukhiya of Dawan panchayat, was fielded as JD(U) candidate out of Jagdishpur constituency at Bhojpur district. Jagdishpur will go to the polls in the initial stage on October 28.
“I’ve learned a lot when doing duty as mukhiya. I understand quite well about the government strategies to the welfare of these people. If you operate in the grassroots level, there’s chance of performing nicely at upper level. I am hoping that the people of Jagdishpur will evaluate my operation and shower their boon,” she explained.
Ritu Jaiswal, the mukhiya of all Rajsinghwahi panchayat at Sitamarhi district, was fielded as RJD candidate in Parihar gathering constituency. Wife of a former IAS officer, Arun Kumar, Ritu is optimistic of obtaining people’s service on the grounds of her development functions in the panchayat.
Ritu stated she’s a vision for all round evolution of the constituency. “It isn’t essential that only large industries will supply jobs to the jobless. There’s an extensive range of career opportunities in agro-based businesses, fisheries, milk farm, tourism and horticulture,” she explained.
Although the state initiated 50percent reservation from local bodies in 2006, you will find just 11% girls in Bihar meeting. Statistics revealed that women candidates possess a lot stronger achievement rate than their male counterparts. In 2015 assembly surveys, all 10 girls who fought RJD tickets, won.
