Your Computer – Friend or Foe?

Well, it can be both an ally, or an enemy.

Your Computer allows you to access all the information and all the education you need to become the best in your field almost for free, it’s a powerful tool you can use to create valuable content and share it to the whole world.

Though, your computer may also become your worst enemy, even worse than your television. It can get you addicted to games, Facebook, and movies and it can feed on your time and energy like a hungry parasite.

I know people that wake up in the middle of the night to harvest some crops on a virtual farm. Other people forget to piss and to eat because they are too busy shooting aliens or other bad creatures on their shooting games.

If you lose your life in front of your computer only for fun, you’re screwed! You get addicted. It’s like the atomic energy, if it’s used in the wrong way, it destroys everything.

Your computer should only be used for educational purposes, in order to get the knowledge and develop the skills you need for monetizing your vocation, and as a tool, if you work on it.

Time will pass anyway, so you’d better be aware of the way you spend it.

People pay for value, and if you want to be paid, you should produce value, to get very good at what you’re doing and perform like a master.

If you want to achieve mastery and perform like an expert in your field, you have to constantly invest in your education. It should be a log time commitment, but if you only replace the price of a beer and an hour on Facebook or in front of your television, with an hour on Skillshare, learning on your field, it will translate into about 360 hours learning every year, and that will make a huge difference.

Also, you should consider the idea of using the internet to develop your business online. I wrote a free handbook that explains how to correctly start an online business – you can download it right away using the banner below.
This way, your computer will not only be a tool for learning or a source of fun, it will become your main source of income.
