Lower Austrian Theater Festival. 24 productions in 20 venues guarantee the best entertainment

In the summer of 2024, the Theater Festival in Lower Austria will celebrate its 30th anniversary. There are 24 premieres of the program in 20 venues.

From June 4 to September 1 there is a full and colorful program. There are 24 productions in 20 venues. The scope ranges from plays and musicals to operas and operettas – festival fun is guaranteed for young and old.

The anniversary season presents wonderful and diverse performances, where the audience awaits 20 venues full of magic. We warmly invite all loyal and new visitors to celebrate together,” says Christina Sprenger, President of the Lower Austria Theater Festival. We look forward to unforgettable summer nights.”

Tried and new

New this year are the Summer Games at Schloss Sitzenberg, where the Lower Austria Theater Festival begins on June 4 with the comedy “Mirandolina.” The Laxenburg Cultural Summer brings the play “Shakespeare – The Rest is Silence” from June 9. “The Borgias – Game of Power” is showing in Melk Summer Games from June 12, and “The Perfect Secret” in Rosenburg from June 20. From June 21, Baden Theater will show Kalman's “The Csárdásfürstin”, and The Hague Summer Theater will show “Dracula – A Horror Comedy” from June 26. “Play with desire” is the motto of the Summer Games in Berchtoldsdorf, which will be held on June 27. “The Girl from the Suburbs” can be viewed at Nestroy Spiele Schwechat from June 29. The musical “Simply the Best – In der Schickeria” will be performed at the Melk Summer Games from July 3.

Program for children

Many highlights will follow in July and August.

The Children's Theater Festival is showing six productions again this year: “Ritter Rust and the New Castle” premieres on July 3 at the Schiltern Garden Arena. “Puss in Boots – Newly Purred” begins on the Fourth of July at Poysbrunn Castle. The “teatro” Mödling will show “The Song of the Nibelungen” from July 13, “Pinocchio” from July 19, and “Friedi Fröhlich and the Chic Holiday Gang” can be seen at Melk from August 4.
