Timo Werner criticizes and coach Marco Rose defends himself

TImo Werner has been disappointed by those in charge at RB Leipzig following his winter move to Tottenham Hotspur. “There was relatively little exchange. During the first half of the season, it was clear how the coach thought about me and planned for me. That's why it was relatively easy for me to make this step,” the 27-year-old told Sky TV.

The scorer, who no longer has a regular place under right-back Coach Marco Rose, added: “Sometimes things no longer fit between people or between tactics and players.” “In the end, I can complain to a few people in Leipzig that it was like this in the end. It no longer brings me the happiness that I had for a long time,” Werner said of his situation at Leipzig before the loan to Tottenham. He has a contract with the German club until the end of June 2026.

Rose disputed Werner's account. “I tried hard for Timo. I think the issue as a whole is very complicated. Timo should be happy because he feels good again, because he is playing a lot and performing well,” his door was always open for Werner, right-back coach Timo said on Friday. “The player feels a little different,” Rose said.

Werner chose similar words after his early departure from Chelsea. “He should be happy that he's doing what he is. Other than that, it's a bit of a matter of stopping, staying humble and assessing your situation properly.
