Prize to the Linz-Brückner Orchestra and the RSO Vienna

The Bruckner Orchestra Linz and its principal conductor Markus Büchner have received the prestigious “Special Achievement Award” from the 2024 International Classical Music Prize for the complete recording of all versions of Anton Bruckner’s symphonies, recorded with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra in Vienna. “I feel extremely honored and extremely proud of the amazing and amazing performances of two first-class Austrian orchestras: the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, together with their tireless recording teams,” says Markus Büchner, President of the Bruckner Orchestra. .

“What an achievement it is to have Bruckner’s symphonies performed in such a fresh and cliché-free way, full of mood, devotion and emotion, with a completely new tone – the intense work was worth it,” Buchner said. The award ceremony will take place on April 12 in Valencia, and the complete box will be released on the 200th anniversary of the birth of our Genius Loci. Credit for recording excellence goes to Eric Pintar of Studio Weinberg.
