Eastern Ukraine: Six postal workers were killed in a missile attack

Six Postal Workers were killed and 16 others were injured, some seriously, after a rocket exploded at a distribution center in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine, late Saturday evening. The Ukrainian shared this President Volodymyr Zelensky Via Telegram information service.

The first pictures show a building with broken windows. Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh SinyhopovHe said that the victims all worked for the postal company. According to police, 22 people were in the building when the Russian S-300 missile struck the building shortly before 10:30 p.m. local time. Investigators, along with forensic scientists and forensic experts, are now examining the bodies. Governor Sinyhopov wrote on Telegram that the ages of the victims ranged from 19 to 42 years, and that they were mainly injured by shrapnel from the explosion. He said the private delivery company in the western suburb of Kharkiv called Korotych is a “civilian place.”

He added, “The Russians continue to terrorize the peaceful residents of Kharkiv.” President Zelensky announced that the rescue operation is still underway. Sinyhopov later stated that seven people were in hospital in “moderate condition” and that another seven men were in “critical condition”.

Russia has not yet commented on the alleged attack, but has previously denied targeting civilians during its invasion of Ukraine. Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, is located just 30 kilometers from the Russian border.
