After parting ways with Hansi Flick and the short-lived support of the interim trio around Rudi Wöller, the DFB has found a coach in Nagelsmann who will also oversee the German national team at next year’s European Championships. The 36-year-old will celebrate his debut as a national coach on Saturday, October 14 in Hartford, USA. Kick-off at Rentschler Field at 9pm German time.

The DFB last played in the US ten years ago

The two national teams will meet for the twelfth time on Saturday, with Germany winning eight times – but not on the DFB team’s last trip to the US Ten Years Ago. The American Football Association celebrated its 100th anniversary in the summer of 2013 and won 4-3 in a friendly against the DFB. Heiko Westermann, Max Kruse and Julian Draxler scored the goals for the DFB selection. Current DFB keeper Marc-André ter Stegen kept goal in the defeat.
