Although Dr. Manmohan Singh became the Prime Minister of India for consecutive terms, the Congress monopoly is over. With Narendra Modi’s arrival, Congress dominance in national politics reduced to a considerable extent.
Subsequently, Rahul Gandhi is looking for an impossible comeback and the Congress Party is not looking comfortable within doubts regarding Opposition candidate for Prime Minister. In this scenario, the controversy over Teen Murti Bhavan has further exposed the Congress.
Ordinarily speaking, there isn’t any wrong in making a museum for Prime Ministers. All over the world, there are so many instances of such where students, researchers, tourists, and academicians visit time and again.

In fact, such things are so common that rarely such decisions get the public limelight. But the decision of the Narendra Modi government to build a museum for all the Prime Ministers of India on the premises of the Teen Murti Estate in New Delhi has created ripples in the Congress Head Quarters.
The Teen Murti Estate has the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. The Congress top brass believes that this decision is an attempt to diminish Nehru’s role in the making of India. No doubt, this is an absurd thought and indicates insecurity on part of Sonia Gandhi’s Congress.
Let’s not forget that being the former Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru‘s memories will be very much there in the new museum. The opposition from the Congress top brass actually exposes identity crisis among the party members of the century-old Congress Party.
After independence, the Congress governments always named social welfare schemes after the names of the Nehru-Gandhi satraps. When Narendra Modi came to power, he categorically called for ‘Congress Mukt Bharat‘.
The present double standard from Congress highlights why the party has lost its connection with the roots. The obsession with the Congress Party with Nehru-Gandhi continues and so does the downward slide.
