Asian Games Special- India’s Gold Medal Prospects At Jarkata Asian 18th

After the opening ceremony of the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta starting from 18th August 2018, the real action starts on Sunday 19th August.

This time India is sending a team of 572 athletes to participate in the world’s second-biggest multi-sport event. In the 17th edition of the Asian Games held in Incheon India won 11 Gold medals. This time the country can hope 16 Gold medals- predicts the sports analysts.

Indian athletes have to face stiff competition from China, Japan, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, South Korea and Ukraine as these countries are sending good athletes of International reputes. India can pin hope of winning gold on several disciplines like athletics, wrestling, shooting, boxing and badminton. find out possible areas where India’s have brighter chances of winning gold medals.

In athletics name of Hima Das should be taken first. After her astounding performance with a gold medal in the World U20 Championships, everyone is sure she can bring gold for the country easily.

Dutee Chand is another gold medal prospect. The country can definitely expect gold medals from 20 years javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and Seema Punia, the seasoned discus thrower.

India’s women wrestlers are also expected to show their best of their performance at the game. Vinesh Phogat’s name comes here first. Olympic gold medalist 35 years old Sushil Kumar will be competing in the 74kg category. This time he is expected to show a better show at the games where he has so far won only one bronze medal.

When it comes Boxing, Vikas Krishan name come first who won a gold medal at 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. Now he is again expected to show his heroics in Jakarta. He is full of confidence after a gold-medal winning performance at Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.

At rowing Rower Dattu Bhokanal’s prospect is very bright for gold. Hailing from the interior of Maharashtra the 6 foot 4 inches tall rower is confident of winning a gold for the county in Jakarta.

Hockey, Archery and Kabaddi are other three disciplines where the country can hope for gold medals.
