On The Possibility Of Congress And BSP Bonhomie Before Madhya Pradesh Election!

After the Karnataka Assembly election, all the opposition parties especially Congress seems to work an opposition ‘mahagathbandhan’ in Madhya Pradesh too before the assembly election. There is a strong possibility of Congress to offer its hands to BSP.

As the Karnataka Election was a great self-realization and learning for the Congress to stop the growing tentacles of the BJP that Amit Shah intended to spread all over the country. Following the fractured verdict in the Assembly election of the state, Congress rushed to extend unconditional support to JD(S) and stopped BJP’s march into this Southern Indian state. With dexterity Congress engaged all the opposition parties and brought them under one umbrella for the first time at Kumarswamy’s oath-taking ceremony last month, echoing a larger opposition unity against BJP.

But the Bye-poll in Kairana and other 9 states gave the Congress full confidence. Congress -the grand old party of the country, is now eager to dwell on the idea of a pre-poll alliance ahead of the Madhya Pradesh elections. It is none other than Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party which have a8 percent vote share having 4 MLAs in the present state assembly.

Not only congress even the other oppositions parties have realized that they need to project a united front in order the fight growing influence of BJP. Even BSP supremo Mayawati said on last month that her party is open to alliances with other parties in the next assembly elections provided such alliances are respectable ones.

Mayawati’s bonhomie with UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi sent a strong political message to BJP.

It has come to know that Congress is now working on the idea of a pre-poll alliance before the Madhya Pradesh elections. BSP enjoys a decent presence in the state. Poll statistics show that Congress and BSP combined would exceed their vote share as compared to the ruling BJP.

Before the 2019 General Elections, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan are going to poll. BSP has a comfortable presence in these states and Mayawati’s statement indicates that.

But it is to be seen how the Congress, BSP and other parties adjust themselves in seat sharing equation. As all of them are hankering after a large number of seats and respectable understanding.
