It seems the victory of BJP in Panchayat Elections in West Bengal has angered the local TMC as the local BJP workers are facing threats to life. Only after days an 18 year old BJP worker was hanged to death, another BJP member was found hanging from an electric pole in Balarampur in Purulia district of West Bengal.

The 32 year old BJP worker irked the local TMC leaders by participating kn a thana gherao protest organised by the saffron outfit. No doubt, repitation of such an incident has already got national limelight and has pointed out whether Bengal is witnessing virtual lawlessness under the TMC government.

It was only few days back that BJP chief referred that Mamata Banerjee government has surpassed the violent legacy of the communist rule in West Bengal. Incidentally, in case of the killing of Trilochan Mahato, in a note it was clearly mentioned that he was punished for working for the BJP.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sent a notice to the West Bengal government over the incident. The Commission has directly mentioned that if the contents of the report is true, it would directly mention gross violation of human rights of the victim. The DGP of West Bengal has four weeks to respond on this matter. As Trilochan Mahato was from Dalit community, the incident has reached different magnitude.

No doubt, bloodshed in the name. of political differences is not uncommon in India. Previously, when the Communists were in power for more than three decades, such incidents were too common. Now in the TMC era, the rise of BJP as the biggest opposition has been a huge cause of concern for Miss Mamata Banerjee. It goes without any saying the BJP is definitely a stronger foothold in West Bengal and in the coming days, they are going to pose serious threat to the TMC.
