It can be a rumour or indication of a distanc future but Former President Pranab Mukherjee, one of the older faces of Indira Gandhi’s Congress, is definitely getting closer to the rightists. He has been invited to speak on ‘Nationalism’ at RSS event in Nagpur. He is expected to focus on what is the real meaning of nationalism.

And when someone of his caliber is going to speak, definitely it’s going to be a treat for all. It goes without any saying that Pranab Mukherjee, the master tactician, rather the one-time Chanakya of Indian National Congress, is definitely going to present liberal viewpoint of the whole perspective.

There is no denying that fact that this issue has been of great embarrassment for Congress. Being a part of the core group of Congress, right from the Indira Gandhi era, Pranab Mukherjee has become synonymous with Congress. If he somehow gets closer to BJP and RSS, it would be a huge advantage for the saffron members.

Definitely his credibility as a sound person with balanced approach is unique from various aspects. Let’s not forget the fact that as President of India, Pranab Mukherjee shared cordial relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP right now needs someone like Pranab Mukherjee who will steer the party in the right direction. Nevertheless it remains to be seen whether Pranab Mukherjee decides to Kickstart his political career with BJP or not.
