The ‘Bae Umra‘ initiative has been a unique initiative in Kolkata, catering to the needs of old deserted men and women of the City of Joy. Recently, at the ICCR, a calendar was launched, where the old men and women were the showstoppers.

No doubt, this initiative calls for creating a bridge between have & havenot’s in the society. This unique initiative is a brainchild of popular actress Sreelekha Mitra, Agnimitra Paul, Sankhadeep Roy.
In the calendar launch, other than the founder members, other dignitaries like thespian Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, celebrity anchor Sharmila Maity, singer Sidhu were present. Through this Calender, the team showcased that age is nothing but just a mere number.
Fashion designer Agnimitra Paul stressed that Fashion is for all is also the key word for Bae Umra. In the coming days, there will be several initiatives coming up in few months where poor, aged deserted people will have something through Bae Umra.
Actress Sreelekha Mitra looked very optimistic as she said,”Bae Umra is the beginning of a new sustainable imitative and we hope to stand by the poorer sections of the society. Bae Umra will usher a new revolution in Kolkata, bringing fellow feeling among the youth of this country.” The calendar launch was attended by a packed house.
