Congress President Rahul Gandhi has accompanied UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for her medical treatment in abroad on Sunday night.
As per sources of the party, Sonia Gandhi will be traveling abroad for her annual medical examination. In 2011 Sonia had undergone a surgery in the US. Sonia will stay in abroad for a longer period of time and Rahul is expected to return back within a week.

Due to their absence, some key decisions will be taken later on. These include the allocation of ministerial portfolios in Karnataka after a Congress-JD(S) government led by HD Kumaraswamy was formed last week in the southern state of India. Besides that, some fresh appointments party are also awaited as part of the party’s rejig under Rahul Gandhi.

In his tweet, Rahul Gandhi said that he had a message for his trolls and he will be back soon. The Congress chief held several rounds of discussions with party leaders to decide on the portfolios for the party’s legislators in Karnataka. But no decision was taken and the discussions remained inconclusive.

It is to be noted that Rahul Gandhi is supposed to address a rally at Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh on 6th June 2018 to commemorate the first anniversary of police firing on farmers there.

Last time when the news of Sonia Gandhi’s treatment in abroad was flashed in news, lots of party workers were demoralized. Senior Congress leaders denied any delay and said Rahul will not be delayed. Besides that, he is available over phone 24×7.
