2. SAN THOME CATHEDRAL BASILICA

The construction and religious sentiments of this church revolve around St. Thomas who is believed to be Jesus’ apostle. Valluvar Kottam is probably the closest tourist station that you will find in the city of Chennai. This beautiful tomb-structured temple was constructed in honor of Saint Thiruvalluvar, a poet. 4. ELLIOT’S BEACH:
All you beach lovers, there is one another beach coming your way! Elliot’s beach is again, a famous beach to go to in Chennai. If you wouldn’t mind joining the crowd during Sunday’s then this place is all yours to explore. 5. FORT ST. GEORGE:
We can safely say that the city of Chennai is rich in tourist places that involve forts of historical importance when we spot forts like these. The fort is said to have built during the times when the East India Company came to rule the “Golden Bird”, India. Undoubtedly, this fort is one of the best in terms of historical importance.
6. CONNEMARA PUBLIC LIBRARY:
You would wonder who even likes to go to a public library on an outing; I’d say the history buffs would. If you have a thing for reading then don’t forget to check out the famous Connemara Public Library out there as it has been listed as India’s longest library.
