Is CPM Heading Towards A Complete Whitewash In India?

The heavy defeat of CPIM in Tripura has not come as a surprise to political analysts in India. Although Manik Sarkar personally has a clean image, his government was lacking in intent to sort of rescue the state from unemployment, lawlessness and utter disparity in economic affairs.

Most interestingly, the defeat of the Left Front aka CPM in Tripura has truly questioned the very existence of the Communist outfit in India. Gone are those days of the last decade, when CPM had their say in the Lok Sabha over government matter in UPA regime.

As far as West Bengal is concerned, they do not even have a chance as the Party is now competing for third place position even in block level elections. Apart from the three states, they have their traditional support in JNU and Delhi University. But such support in the academia is not reaping them benefits in the election front.

The high pitch anti-Modi stance hasn’t helped them either with usual confusion over support to Congress hasn’t helped either. The irony is, the party which was the principal opposition in the first ever Lok Sabha is now politically existing covering a meagre 3 percent of Indian population.

The situation in Kerala for CPM isn’t good at all. The Pinarayi Vijayan government is already losing public support due to numerous allegations of corruption against the party. Side by side, the killings of RSS supporters by state sponsored CPM supporters certainly indicate that Kerala is forcing towards a violent episode of lawlessness. It has become as clear as daylight that the party is now run by money from West Asia and Islamic Kerala won’t be a misnomer after few more months.

The CPM politbureau is also to be blamed for myopic ideas and it isn’t too far that CPM may lose the battle in Kerala to BJP. As BJP President Amit Shah has already mentioned, Kerala is the next stop for BJP and CPM mukt-Bharat doesn’t seem to be a far fetched dream right now.
