Flavour Of Indian Festival In Australia

On the occasion of Makar Sankranthi Telegu speaking people living in Australia celebrated the occasion with a plethora of activities like observing rituals, flying kites, rangoli competition, singing and dancing, pekata pandem, musical chair and different games and sport etc.

Professor Kameshwara Rao Ayyalaraju Garu special invitee addressed the gathering and gave blessings to the families attended the event.

Internationally famous Kuchipudi dancer Mrs Vanaja Dasika sung melodious Sankranthi song. Dr.Prasad Tipirneni President Nata Australia addressed the gathering on the Sankranthi occasion. “Living far from the homeland, we celebrate the different festivals in Australia. These festivals not only unite our families here bust also at the same times appraises the new generation children living in Australia about rich heritage and culture of our native land. The enthusiasm and spirit of the new generation were really wonderful. They learn the very significance of these rituals associated with our festivals.”

All the members of NATA Australia joined in the event with their family members. Each member took different responsibilities to smoothly carry forward the event. Bharani Choudary Chunduri organized games. Mrs Shilpa Vemuri took the responsibility to organize the programs during the festival. Mrs Sirisha Pativada organized Bhogipalli. Mr Hari Vittal Bolli and Mr Nagavamsee Kanumuru provided support to the arrangements.

Mr.Ram Vadlamudi, Mr.Kalyan Kommana, Mr.Raj Vankadara provided support to the dinner arrangements. Representing Andhra Pradesh in Australia, NATA was formed in 2014 after Andhra Pradesh evolved as a new state with an old name.

“Our motivation is to support everyone associated with Andhra Pradesh in every possible way. We put our best efforts to integrate culture from our homeland with Australian culture. We strive to help the community and other local communities to understand different lifestyles associated and develop harmony within. NATA on its part contributes to helping local communities in various aspects. NATA conducted Yoga Seminars which helps to promote a healthy lifestyle.

NATA also conducts IT Seminar every year where successful Subject Matter Experts from various domains run a workshop with information on emerging technologies & associated career opportunities NATA takes every opportunity to organize cultural & spiritual events,” added Dr.Prasad Tipirneni. Both the elders and youngsters joined in the event with great enthusiasm. There was also traditional dishes as a dinner for all the participants.
