Madhu Koda, who served as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2006 to 2008, has been found guilty along three others in the coal scam case. The sentencing of the case by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court is expected on Thursday. When Madhu Koda was the chief minister of Jharkhand, several discrepancies came up in allocating coal mines. At that time he was the head of the UPA government and was supported by Congress, RJD and JMM. Eventually, Madhu Koda resigned from the post on August 23, 2008.
The CBI Special Judge announced the names of those who are guilty in the allocation of Rajhara North coal block in Jharkhand to the Kolkata based VISUAL. Apart from Madhu Koda, former coal secretary HC Gupta, former Jharkhand chief secretary Ashok Kumar Basu and another person have been named.
The above mentioned public servants favored VISUAL in the coal block allocation. No doubt, this is a landmark decision and virtually ends the political career of tainted Madhu Koda.
