A wonderful day for Indian Air Force as the Supersonic Cruise Missile – BrahMos was tested for the first time from a Sukhoi – 30MKI fighter jet. A fighter and a BrahMo, is considered to be a lethal combination, which is not only a world-class weapon with a multi-platform, multi-mission role but also an asset in case of deep surgical strikes.

Importantly, this specific combination can be launched from land, sea and air. The test was successful today as the missile propelled towards the sea-based target in the Bay of Bengal. There is no denying the fact that this BrahMos Supersonic Cruise missile is one of the fastest of its kind.

This is a vital inclusion in IAF’s combat operation capabilities. One can definitely expect that BrahMos, which is a product of joint venture between DRDO and NPOM of Russia, is going to play a stellar role in combat operations in the days to come. As of now, it has been decided that 42 Sukhoi fighters will be armed with BrahMos missiles once the missiles undergo a battery of successful tests.
