MEA Clarifies Status Quo At Doklam

The never-ending Doklam dispute once again came to the forefront as some satellite images have shown that Chinese Troops were still present in Doklam regional where the Chinese and the Indian troops had a direct face off a few months back. Although both the sides retreated after negotiations through diplomatic channels, there is indeed inner tension between the two nuclear-powered countries as Chinese aggression cannot be ignored in the region. Indian government literally had to clarify regarding the status quo of the site as MEA has cleared regarding the present scenario.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar has remarked in this regard,” The status quo prevails in the area and any suggestion to the contrary is incorrect and mischievous. I would like to reiterate that there is no new development at the face-off site and its vicinity since the August 28 disengagement.” There is no denying the fact that the situation has improved since the 73-day long stand-off but the Chinese government has categorically maintained an attacking stance, with a motive. At any cost, they are no ready to give any possessional advantage to India and this has actually compelled the Indians to have a serious stance in this matter of national security.

As of now, there is proof to say that the Chinese forces have resumed construction of the road at Doklam. Since the August 28 mutual disengagement, both the countries have been very cautious with their approach and one can only say that the whole situation demands deeper introspection as far as Chinese motive is concerned.
