Kiran Bedi Jumps Wall As Key Are Misplaced At Karaikal

Puducherry Lieutenant Governor (LG) Kiran Bedi surprised everyone during a field visit at Karaikal. LG Bedi was on a five-day field visit to Karaikal, which is a part of Union territory Puducherry. On the fourth day of her visit to the place, she went to inspect a hospital and review the works being carried out in the hospital premises.

Ms Bedi wanted to inspect a statue of the ‘Lady of Lourdes’ which was on the hospital premises. The statue and surrounding place was encircled by a three and a half foot brick wall and secured with a locked gate. When LG Bedi visited the place, the keys of the gate at the statue were misplaced. She was made to wait for sometime. Meanwhile, LG Bedi decided not to waste further time and climbed over the 3.5-foot high wall and went into the premises of the statue.

All the officials, who accompanied LG Bedi, were shocked at the sudden surprise. LG Bedi, aged 68, no wonder was the first woman IPS officer in India. She visited the hospital in the area and interacted with the patients. She noticed that the surroundings of the hospital were in a bad condition. She ordered cleaning of that place with immediate effect. She said that such dirty surroundings become the breeding grounds for mosquitoes and cause various diseases.
