Woman Pleads Freedom From Her Father, Case Of Love Jihad

A fresh video has been released by Kerala activist Rahul Eashwar where Akhila Ashokan or Hadiya is seen pleading the activist to end her captivity and facilitate freedom. Hadiya is seen pleading to let her out from the control of her father. She is said to have come to the opinion that her life would end if she stays further with her father. She was sure of the anger of her father and feels that her father won’t let her live for a long time. Hadiya was married to Shafin Jahan, aged 27, who is said to have links with terror groups.

Hadiya, who was formerly known as Akhila Ashokan before marriage, was converted to Islam after her marriage with Shafin. However, the High Court of Kerala has annulled their marriage and ordered Hadiya alias Akhila to stay with her parents. Her parents feel that she has been forcefully converted to Islam. This case is being referred as an example of ‘Love Jihad’ in political spheres.

Hadiya’s husband has approached the Supreme Court against the decision of High Court. The Apex court involved the anti-terror squad NIA to investigate the circumstances of the marriage between Akhila and Shafin. The judgement, in this case, is not yet given by the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the right-wing activists have blamed ‘Love Jihad’ as the main reason behind this case. It is claimed to be a strategy where Muslim youth romance and marry Hindu women to increase the former’s population and influence.
