YSR Congress Boycotts Assembly Sessions

YSR Congress Party took the call to boycott the Monsoon Session of AP Assembly citing lack of action against their MLAs who switched loyalties to ruling TDP. ’21 YCP MLAs had joined TDP. Speaker Kodela made a mockery of democracy by remaining as a silent spectator. We decided to boycott the Assembly Session until the Legislators were disqualified as per anti-defection law. NTR is our inspiration in this matter,’ complains the Main Opposition.

Punganur MLA & YCP Deputy Floor Leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy told: ‘4 out of 21 YCP MLAs have been inducted into AP Cabinet. Had YCP formed an alliance with TDP to do so? How could we attend Assembly Sessions when such things are happening? If 21 MLAs are disqualified & four Ministers get sacked from the cabinet, We don’t have any objection to attend Assembly. YCP will take this matter to the notice of PM, President and Governor’.

Main Opposition alleges TDP finalized the schedule of upcoming Assembly Sessions with the hidden agenda of disrupting Jagan’s Padayatra. ‘We aren’t gonna let that happen. Instead of attending the Assembly Session, YCP would be with the people and make Jagan’s padayatra a grand success,’ says a party leader.

YSR Congress decided not to attend Assembly Sessions till the next elections in protest against Speaker’s partiality towards the Ruling Party. Will TDP consider it as a blessing in disguise or tricky situation?
