Jio Mami Day 6- The Familiar Condition!

Mumbai Film Festival has entered its pre-last Day, Day 6. We have been giving you various updates regarding the films that you can seldom catch in the popular circuit. Even we tried to see if the absurd and different works better than the regular. We should thank you for reading for our daily updates and let’s dive into the details of Day 6.

We started the Day 6 with the Movie, The Square. The movie received The Palme d’Or award at Cannes Film Festival this year. As it is one of the famous films of the festival we had to be early to catch a seat and the movie makes the point of how the society has become too insensitive by relating it to a square and people within it. We see what fall guys are? We see how each human is different yet how threatened they all are collective. This is one film that many should watch even though it is lengthy.

Next film we caught up with is Untitled, the movie shines in parts as it is about Nothing, we can also say Nothing!

The third film for the day is Summer 1993. We had a good chat with the director, Carla Simon post the film. It is about a young kid who loses her parents but unable to cry out her anguish and pain. How she gets comfortable with her uncle and aunt, seeing them as her new parents? The director depicts the young girl’s psyche really well.

Wajib, the last movie of the day, talked about the Palestine situation today. How people are hurt and how old generation and a new generation is a clash with all the ideas. This road movie is more of a conversation than a film and we need some leisurely time to really dwell on it.

On the whole, Day 6 made up for Day 5 and we are looking to share with you the Day 7, last day as well. Hope to find you here!
