With Digital transformation comes responsibility: iSoCIAL

There is a goal. It is to make internet the air that people breathe and the water that people cannot live without. The goal is to innovate and upgrade technology to a level where internet helps people begin their mornings, prepares them for the day, facilitates their daily business and helps them go back to sleep. India alone had close to 460 million internet users in 2016 and it is growing every second.

The use of internet today is not restricted to Social Media accounts and talks, it is penetrating to different walks of life from online shopping, online tuitions to million dollar worth deals taking place with the help of internet. With this storm of Digital transformation, there comes a BIG need to ensure the proper working of this incredible medium.

With this idea in mind we bring to you iSoCIAL. It stands for International Socialmedia Council for Internet & Allied League. It works towards building thought leadership in Digital/ Social Media and its huge impact our country is about to witness. The time has come for identifying the urgent need of setting credible standards and protocols for digital media and increasing the attention among government bodies given to digital media as an organized entity.

iSoCIAL was created with multiple agenda and focus areas. Some of them are integral to the growth of Digital Media in the right direction. These include building distinction around social media beyond internet marketing, drafting quality norms and certifications, incorporating social media awareness camps and events in colleges, institutes, startup communities and MSMEs events and so on. These will consequently make way to achieve the Prime Minister’s vision of Digital India, Skill India, Start Up/ Stand Up India and Make in India to move from web 2.0 to 4.0.

To ensure proper coverage to every aspect of social media, iSoCIAL defines 6 HATS ( Chairs of Responsibilities ) and one Trinity hat governing the activities and smooth functioning of all the six hats. Categorizing these areas of digital media under different hats is integral for the overall development of social media platform. Let us try to know what these chair of responsibilities or hats are:

  1. Micro small & Medium enterprises (MSMEs)/ Small and medium businesses (SMBs)
  2. Internet of Things (IoT)/Mobile Apps/Mobile location based
  3. Digital India employability
  4. E-Commerce/Digital/Social & Allied Mediums
  5. Big Data
  6. Corporate Social Responsibility
  7. Trinity

The need is to channelize all the efforts so as to make sure that every aspect gets due diligence for a new and fast evolving platform such as digital media by the people, organizations and the government.

Team iSoCIAL invites you all to be a part of the Digital Revolution, the world is going to witness
