2008

I've been Blogging since 2008-kinda nuts. Really nuts actually.
When I first started blogging I would be constantly struck by inspiration; writing notes on my phone, napkins and emailing myself ideas. And the thing is, I still have ideas. But my lack of sitting down in front of the leaves me perplexed-which got me thinking.

Could the idea that strife feeds creativity be true?

It has long been said that artists must suffer for their art. Once you're happy the content dries up. I've seen it time and time again with bloggers (self included). So much of the blog's content revolves around this yearning for something more (engagement, baby...major life changes) and once you get it...you enjoy it instead of writing about it.

I guess that is what I am grappling with. Does happiness kill blogging productivity?
Now its not to say that I was terribly unhappy before but I will say I was distracted by striving. Graduate, marry, open business.  These are all good things but my goodness, they were dreams.  But once you stand toe to toe with your dreams there is a sense of peace. In my experience peace does not lead to fodder.

What do you think? Is there something to yearning leading to productivity?
