CW provides preview to all of its DC shows for this season

It sounds as though The CW has a lot in store for us this year on its DC shows, and a lot of it sounds awesome.

The CW held its panel at the Television Critics Association meetings and there was a ton of news for all of its DC shows.

Arrow

  • At long last, season 5 will be the last to feature the flashbacks. That sound you just heard was every Arrow fan rejoicing. But… they only mean the island storylines. We may see flashbacks for other characters, which is totally fine with me.
  • Before they go, Dolph Lundgren will appear as a character involved with the missing piece of Oliver’s history about how he became involved with the Russian mafia.

The Flash

  • Lots of villains this season. We’ll meet Dr. Alchemy, Mirror Master – one of the Scarlet Speedster’s best-known enemies – will appear and we will have yet another evil speedster, Savitar.
  • Somehow… Supergirl and The Flash will crossover for a two-episode musical storyline. Yes, both stars were on Glee, but… really?

Legends of Tomorrow

  • Lance Henriksen will be joining the series in episode 5 as Obsidian, a member of the Justice Society of America.

Supergirl

  • Chris Wood will be joining the series as Mon-El, and it was his pod that was found at the end of season 1. If they hold with the comic, this is the introduction of the Legion of Super-Heroes from the 31st century.
  • Sharon Leal is joining the series as M’gann M’orzz, also known as Miss Martian. J’Onn J’Onzz will no longer be the only Martian on Earth.
  • While it was confirmed by Greg Berlanti an existing character will come out this season as gay on either The Flash or Supergirl, the money seems to be on the Kryptonian powerhouse’s show. It will be an existing character, so some are leaning towards Winn (Jeremy Jordan) – which makes no sense to me as he had a huge crush on Kara – or Alex (Chyler Leigh). That’s actually where my money lands as they are introducing a lesbian National City PD detective named Maggie Sawyer.

It sounds like a ton will be happening this season on all four shows, and I’m definitely looking forward to it.
