20th Century Fox is in the midst of doing some significant schedule shifting due to an injured actor.

Dylan O’Brien was injured on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure back in April, and while it was supposed to shut down production for only a few weeks, his injuries were worse than first thought and the film has now been delayed by a full year. This means Fox has some shifting to do to cover for the film’s absence.

First up, the Predator reboot has been Moved up from March 2, 2018 to Feb. 9, 2018, putting it up against Fifty Shades Freed and a week before Black Panther.

Alita: Battle Angel – which is said to finally have a lead actor – now has a release date set for July 20, 2018. This will put it a week ahead of Warner Brothers’ Aquaman.

Two untitled Marvel films being released by Fox – believed to be X-Force, Gambit, The New Mutants or Deadpool 2 – have also been moved. One from Jan. 12, 2018 to March 2, 2018. The other moved up from July 13, 2018 to June 29, 2018.

Close to today items moving arrive will see Morgan move to Sept. 2, while Gore Verbinski’s A Cure for Wellness has moved up a month to Feb. 17, 2017. Red Sparrow is set for Nov. 17, 2017 and Kenneth Branagh’s remake of Murder On the Orient Express is set for Nov. 22, 2017.

That’s a whole lot of movement. I doubt it’s all due to O’Brien’s injury. If it is, however, one actor being injured on set having this far-reaching of an impact makes me think the studios need to rethink how they schedule things.
