Dumbo takes the top spot at the weekend box office

Not every top movie is always a celebration when it misses its targets.

The top spot this week went to Dumbo with $45M, but that fell short of projections. Combined with foreign box office it sits at $116M.

Us took second this weekend with $33.6M for a new domestic total of $128.22M. Globally it has hit $174.52M off of a $20M budget.

Coming in third was Captain Marvel. The film took in $20.5M domestic for a new total of $353.8M. The global total sits at $990.6M.

Five Feet Apart came in fourth with $6.25M for a new domestic total of $35.87M off of a reported $7M budget.

Fifth place went to Unplanned with $6.11M off of a $6M budget.

This week’s wide-release will be Pet Sematary and Shazam.

Curious how I think these films will do? Check out my The Movies of 2019 – April report.
