When I first heard about Pennyworth – a prequel series for Batman’s butler – I couldn’t imagine a sillier idea.

Now the Trailer is here, and I’m definitely intrigued.

Set in the 1960s, Alfred Pennyworth is a 20-something man who has just gotten out of the British SAS and opened his own security firm. Now he has been a rich American by the name of Thomas Wayne who is in need of protection.

I’m digging the vibe here even in this short video. It feels like it belongs in a Batman universe, and not just some random story.

I’ll at least give it a go.

Pennyworth will launch on Epix sometime this summer.
