Black Lightning has already found a home it seems, and will at least produce a Pilot.

After news hit that Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow) was teaming up with Mara Brock Akil & Salim Akil (The Game, Being Mary Jane) for a Black Lightning series, it’s doubtful anyone thought it would sell this fast. According to Deadline, Fox has already picked it up with a pilot production commitment.

This is intriguing as Fox has had some success with Gotham and Lucifer, but I think it’s a bit surprising they want to go full super-hero now. And with this being a Berlanti show you had to wonder if it would crossover with his other shows, but I think the likelihood of that has dropped now.

With this sale going through now the series is a lock for this upcoming pilot season and, should it get picked up .we could see it on our TV screens as early as next fall.
