Determine the Benefits of Going Back to Work or Getting a Part-Time Job

If you are in desperate need of money and going back to work is your only option, it’s worth it to
weigh the pros and cons of going back to the field you were in prior to retirement or getting a
different part-time job. If you are capable of returning to the filed you were in for a large part of
your life, it could be beneficial to return to work since you already are skilled at the tasks. If the
company you worked at upon retirement has positions available, working there until you are
more financially stable could be a quick solution.
However, if you are not as physically capable of returning to the position you were in upon
retirement, it may be worth your while to consider working at a part-time job that is less
demanding. Here are some part-time job ideas that most seniors are qualified and capable of
doing:

Part-Time Job Ideas

  • Substitute teacher
  • Bus driver; ideally in a school district

begin this process is by looking online to see what you could rent it for and then posting it on a
website such as Craig’s List. Similarly, you can do this if you own a building or an office space,
perhaps from when you were working.
