Adios Costa Rica – Hello Again US

Downtown Atenas Costa Rica, July 7, 2011

We pulled the plug on our six year Costa Rica adventure and have returned to the United States. After five years on the market, we sold our house and closed the deal July 24. They loaded our shipping container with our worldly goods on 7/22, Nancy had her “surprise” birthday party on 7/25 and we were on a plane for Florida on 7/27.

We will be living near Bulbous and St. Todd de Cubbville.

So far we have bought a car, a house, and a new phone. We’ve purchased car and home insurance and got new Florida driver’s licenses. Someday I’ll tell you about which was the most challenging.

We’re temporarily living in the “Wal-mart furniture” house (as Nancy calls it) via Airbnb.com

I know there are a ton of questions “why?” and those will be addressed in later posts.

Suffice to say for now that we both have a lot of good memories about living in Costa Rica but it was me that pushed to move back to the US.

Here are upcoming topics (depending on when our shipping container arrives and how I do getting “stuff” unpacked.)

NOTE: don’t jump to any conclusions that all these topics are reasons we left – as with most things there were pros and cons…

  • Medical
  • Driving
  • Walking
  • Talking
  • Eating
  • Governing
  • Entertaining
  • Shopping
