Fond friendships I felt would stand the test of time flicker faintly in my mind. Ruins of relationships I once believed were eternal now stand relegated to ruminating nights. 

After years of blaming myself for the way the sweetness soured, I have opened my mind to the possibility that there is a place, time and purpose for people in our lives, and that I tumbled from some or all of those pedestals on the other persons’ lives.

While I have always been grateful for the period of my life they illuminated, it is only of late that I have begun to feel forgiving of the darkness they abruptly left me with. I will focus my everything on those that still choose me.
