GOD DAMN IT!
Their fear mongering, deceptive program format, dishonest reporting, and unjustified slander of President Obama, his policies, or any other non-Republican in the news, IS DANGEROUS! ...and quite simply, wrong.
They've only been around since 1996. It only took them 4 years to become the #1 24hr news channel and have held that position for 17 years. What's worse is that they deserve 100% of the credit for their ratings domination. They're fucking good at what they do. Their sets and graphics are so clear and inviting. Every program maintains the appearance and tone of a generic, fact driven, national news broadcast. Thus, their conservative opinion programs are disguised as straight news reporting programs. They even claim to adhere to the FNC slogan: "Fair and Balanced". It's nauseating.
You know, I was going to begin venting about their relentless and brutal aggression, but I just had an epiphany....
Clearly, the BIG, OLD MONEY of the US rolls in the Republican Party. They are the seat of power in the US. They are the ones with the most effective means of constructing and manipulating public opinion. And they were the ones that set up our system of governance. The political structure is presented as essentially a binary system: Republicans on the right and Democrats on the left. What I just realized is that this view of American politics is BULLSHIT. Yes, the Republican Party represents the conservative, right wing of politics. But the Democrats are not the polar opposite, as they are presented. Democrats are not liberal; not the left wing. They are the centrists. I AM THE LEFT WING (and others like me). I AM LIBERAL. But the power players have convinced us otherwise. They have convinced the general public that reasonable center players are actually the liberal-left. It is a brilliant strategy to preserve the right wing's power. I can't stand their ferocious, 1/8th truth, attacks on President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and whatever Democrats appear in the news.
