I play Fantasy F1 with a group of much better real life gear heads and I’ve won the last 2 years. My previous years’ strategy was to bet on money movement in the early days as much as possible to leverage the value generated into steady stable improved cars and drivers over the course of the season.

That’s not panned out in the first race in Bahrain.

My lineup for Saudi Arabia is:

• Hamilton
• Alonso
• Piastri
• Stroll ★
• Ricciardo
• Williams

The risk is betting on Aston Martin with both drivers. I am confident Alonso will pull his weight. Unsure about Stroll. I am also unsure if Williams as a team will really pull their weight, despite all confidence in Albon. Finally, Hamilton’s been a losing bet as well, with Russell clearly carrying the Merc momentum.

Anyway, need to reweigh the options as development continues.
