Beach

Going to the Beach makes no sense.  Sand gets everywhere, its usually windy and the sea is freezing cold.  Its somehow beautiful though, and there's no place like it on a warm day, even if the sea is cold.

I wish I was at the beach today, even if it is February.  I would like to pull up in front of a scenic beach in my van, one Close to a coffee shop, and just sit there.  I wouldn't even necessarily have to leave the vehicle.  Ideally I would have a huge reclining armchair in the back of the van and I could just lie there reading a book with a Joe Rogan podcast episode playing in the background.  Why don't I just do that in my house, you're probably thinking, and forget the beach if its the case that I don't care if I venture onto it or not.  You would have a point, although there's nothing that tells you you're off like being on (or close to) a beach on purpose.

I'm approaching burnout with work.  I know when this happens because I no longer care about the money.  I just want to go home and forget about people, emails and technology.  I'm on track to turn £100,000 this year, but it seems meaningless when all you do is work and when time off is when you get to work in the office instead of on site.

This happens every year with me and it will be fine after March, when work levels return to being manageable.  Also I have a honeymoon to go on and it has beaches.  Many, many beaches.
