The imposition of an increase of 50 sen Stamp Duty on top of the existing 15 sen has been deferred to January 1st, 2015. It was announced earlier to be April 1st, 2014.
It was meant to be Bank Negara Malaysia's move to reduce to 100 million Cheque Issuances in 2020 from the 240 million cheque issuances recorded in December 2012.
Meanwhile, the fee for IBG transactions performed via Internet and mobile banking has been reduced to 10 sen per transaction from 50 sen since May 2013.
