A number of people, both civilians and police officers, have been injured after shots were fired outside a Texas A&M University campus.
Various unconfirmed news accounts say as many as six people have been injured, including two law enforcement officers. College Station Police Department spokeswoman Rhonda Seaton has confirmed one person has been taken into custody. That person is believed to be the gunman.
Earlier reports suggested that the shooter was firing automatic weapons from inside a house close to the campus.
A Code Maroon warning was posted on the A&M website, warning students to stay away from the area.
