Out of the clear blue sky all alone,
it came to me in adoring color.
Sat beside me as it fluttered in the sand.
A tranquil moment as I took a breath,
and smiled, it appeared to smile back.
Only then it glided away with the ocean breeze.
I did not know my grief that day,
as I watched the ocean waters sway.
From its cocoon it came to be,
its beauty, not just from within.
