So, where do I get started with homeschooling?

First of all, you should realize that we all struggle with pangs of doubt in the begining when we start Homeschooling, when it all seems so new and distant. However, you really just need to relax as it will soon all become just second nature to you. Soon, you will discover that homeschooling is actually a way of life. You'll need to have this kind of commitment in order to succeed. From there you can move on to learning to seek out resources. Of course, you're going to have to also be willing to learn, or seek out appropriate learning resources, for anything that you don't know. You can do this through lots of online research. You'll also find it very helpful, especially as your children grow older, to get connected with other homeschoolers in your area. This is going to take some time. However, you'll be so thankful when you find a group that's right for you and your family because then you'll also find a wealth of learning opportunities and resources within that group. For instance, some parents may have a background in science (biochemistry, computer science, etc.) and thus offer tutoring or group science activities/workshops. In turn, you'll find that you also have something to offer. By working together to learn, there is strength in a homeschooling community.
