Monday Mottoes – #226

I get it. I understand those who state their Truth through the #MeToo movement. It’s important to speak up and speak out, even if it’s years later.

But I also know that allegations, Anonymous and otherwise, can be false. And what do we do with that unpleasant truth? How do we verify unsubstantiated claims? Can anyone take a pot shot at anybody else and not be legally pursued for slander?

Worth thinking about.

Which brings us to today’s motto:

“False accusations can ruin lives. Be careful what you say…and repeat.” ~Anonymous

That has the ring of truth, for sure. Anonymous, as well-! Things whispered in secret…. Musing out loud…. Suspicions without any verification….

Disgruntled employees, neighbors, friends. Failures and issues of life that one tries to pin on a convenient scapegoat.

If you have been attacked, report it. The sooner, the better.

If your life is simply limping along and you want revenge upon all authority figures, former friends or family, think before doing something crazy. Law enforcement can be better used elsewhere. We don’t want to return to the days of McCarthyism.

Try to make it a good Monday, everyone! Be safe.
