Its not good to Lock an Emergency / Fire Exit Doors as these Doors are made for emergency exit in a building a special exit for emergencies such as a fire. It is usually located in for example the stairwell, hallway or the perimeter of the building, a Fire Exit door should be outward opening door and fitted with a push bar or push pad with exit signs clearly identifying its location but shouldn't be locked , it is designed allow faster evacuation of the building in an emergency and also provides an alternative if the regular exit is blocked by fire. A fire exit door can also be designated as the main entrance to the building in some smaller buildings. Local building regulations will dictate the number of fire exits required on a property taking into account size and the use the building is designed for as well as the number of people that are using it at any one time. And once if we got a healthy number of people gathered in the building having Fire Exit Doors they shouldn't be locked at that time.
