Canary Island Palm


Canary Island Date Palm (Phoenix canariensis) is a beautiful, majestic palm tree from Canary islands. It has a thick caliper trunk with large nut at the top and a huge canope of large pinnate leaves. The crown is 10 to 15 foot long. The trunk is covered with diamond pattern from old leaf scars. The Canary island palm is well suited to grow in city landscapes and tolerates air pollution and automobile fumes.Canary island palm is more often used as a street or avenue tree. The palm also uased as a focal point in beach resorts and hotels. This majestic palm can grow to 50-80 feet in height with a trunk reaching sometimes 4 feet.
