Celebrating Black History Month: Once Segregated Woolwoth Becomes Civil Rights Museum

The infamous Greensboro, N.C. Woolworth, stage of the 1960 Greensboro Sit-In, was officially reincarnated today as the International Civil Rights Center and Museum.   The former five and dime store became a civil rights landmark after 4 Black students sat down at the (then) segregated Woolworth lunch counter and refused to get up until they were served.  From the ICRCM website: The International
