Recycled

This was the title of the message this past Sunday at church.

A few cool thoughts that Pastor Rich shared that stuck with me:

1.) The average soda can has an average "shelf-life" of about 90 days from the time it is filled, bought, drank and recycled. The can is made new every 90 days. An interesting picture for the life of discipleship. Discipleship is not a once and for all deal, it is a process that takes time and energy. It may be that your discipleship needs to be taken to the curb everyday, every Monday with the trash, yearly, whatever....but there does need to a recycling.

2.) Paul was the man in all aspects of legalistic righteousness. Having all that was needed to be faultless under the Old Covenant, he considered all of that literal crap to knowing Jesus. (Philippians 3:4b-11 if you wanna reference) I have long considered this my "life verse" but don't really know if I can fully grasp it. Sometimes it seems like as hard as I try I don't feel I live up to actually living said life verse(s). Something that I have realized lately is that I am not perfect. Seriously. Its not always about attaining perfection but about the road getting there.

Gotta cut it short today, gotta go to work. The countdown to freedom begins. I have given myself until the end of February to either find another job or have my business at a level where I don't need a job on the side. That would be sweet. Wouldn't take a whole lot more. (Link to my store here)

Blessings,

T
