Contrary to what this blog might lead one to believe, I have no Objection to laughter. Neither do I have an objection to alcohol--most certainly not at all an objection to alcohol. But the compulsory consumption of the latter in order to squeeze the former from so-called "jokes" about the differences between the genders or the races or the various sexual orientations just makes me go all Queen of England-y. I mean, what does it say about the confidence of comedy venues in their performers that they enforce a two-drink minimum in order to eke a few more chuckles out...
